BUCATINI
Private import from Gentile in the Naples region of Italy, high-end product
Bucatini are Italian pasta shaped like long tubes, similar to spaghetti, but thicker and with a hole in the center, which allows them to absorb sauces in a unique way. Originating from the Lazio region, they are often used in traditional dishes such as bucatini all'Amatriciana, prepared with tomatoes, pancetta and pecorino romano.
The firm yet chewy texture of bucatini makes them ideal for serving with rich, flavorful sauces. Their shape allows them to hold the bits of ingredients tightly, making each bite an explosion of flavor. Bucatini are typically cooked al dente for the best taste and dining experience.
The origin of "Gentile" dates back to 1876, taking its name from the property of the time: the Zampino family bought the brand in the 80s of the following century. Initially, the production of pasta, to which the pasta maker Natale Zampino has been dedicated since the first day, was focused on the "handmade fusilli", the famous format made with a frame and left to dry slowly before being used in the kitchen. Later, with the growth of the company, they dedicated themselves to other shapes of long and short pasta.
"The history of the company is closely linked to that of our family, in the land we love, in the city where we were born and where everything happens: Gragnano, the city of pasta" -La famiglia Zampino
