NICE TAGLIATELLE
Private import from Gentile in the Naples region of Italy, high-end product
Tagliatelle is an Italian pasta shaped like wide, flat ribbons. Originating from the Emilia-Romagna region, it is traditionally prepared with durum wheat semolina and water.
Tagliatelle pairs perfectly with a variety of sauces, including Bolognese sauce, mushroom cream sauce, or simply a drizzle of olive oil and Parmesan cheese. They are great for soaking up sauces thanks to their rough surface. Typically, they are served al dente, which gives them a nice texture and savory taste.
The origin of "Gentile" dates back to 1876, taking its name from the property of the time: the Zampino family bought the brand in the 80s of the following century. Initially, the production of pasta, to which the pasta maker Natale Zampino has been dedicated since the first day, was focused on the "handmade fusilli", the famous format made with a frame and left to dry slowly before being used in the kitchen. Later, with the growth of the company, they dedicated themselves to other shapes of long and short pasta.
"The history of the company is closely linked to that of our family, in the land we love, in the city where we were born and where everything happens: Gragnano, the city of pasta" -La famiglia Zampino
