The origins of "Gentile" date back to 1876, taking its name from the ownership at the time: the Zampino family acquired the brand in the 1980s. Initially, pasta production, to which pasta maker Natale Zampino has dedicated himself since day one, focused on "handmade fusilli," the famous shape made with a frame and left to dry slowly before being used in cooking. Later, with the growth of the company, they expanded into other long and short pasta shapes.
